TWO NEW MISSING AMERICANS IN IRAQ
FOUND DEAD

BAGHDAD, Iraq (CNN) -- An Iraqi Defense Ministry spokesman said Tuesday that two U.S. soldiers missing since Friday have been found dead, Reuters reported.

U.S. military authorities in Baghdad told CNN they could not confirm the report.

"The two soldiers were killed and they were found in Yusufiyah near an electricity plant," Major General Abdul Aziz Mohammed told a news conference in Baghdad, Reuters said.

Their bodies were so desecrated that the military will need to use DNA to confirm the identity of the two young soldiers. Their bodies were also filled with Improvised Explosive Devices (IED) and the area was riddled with Improvised Explosive Devices (IED) to kill anyone who attempted to recover the bodies according to CNN's Pentagon reporter Brenda Starr.

The U.S. military confirmed that Private First Class Kristian Menchaca, 23, of Houston, Texas and Army Private First Class Thomas Lowell Tucker, 25, of Madras, Oregon, were kidnapped during the attack Friday on their checkpoint south of Baghdad.

The Defense Department said Specialist David J. Babineau, 25, of Springfield, Massachusetts, was killed in the attack.
