Ellis Nelson, right, father of Army Specialist Lex S. Nelson, hugs his daughter Ingrid as they grieve during a tree dedication ceremony at Fort Stewart, Ga., during a tree-dedication ceremony in Fort Stewart, Ga., on Thursday. The soldier died in Iraq on Dec. 12 while serving with the 1st Battalion, 41st Field Artillery, 1st Brigade, 3rd Infantry Division. The ceremony was the one of the largest held for those killed in action while serving with the 3rd ID during its year-long deployment to Iraq.
